Two things we love here at MetalSucks: the Friday the 13th slasher franchise, and the Swedish glam metal band, Crazy Lixx. So you can imagine how thrilled we were to see this new trailer for the upcoming Friday the 13th video game — ’cause not only does it offer up some of the most insanely violent Jason kills that the MPAA and budgetary restrictions would probably never allow in a movie, but it wall of deaths those kills with “XIII,” a new Crazy Lixx song the band wrote specifically for the game.
Will the game actually be any good? Move tie-in games are notoriously disappointing… although there are some notable exceptions, and the fact that this particular game wasn’t made to capitalize on one particular movie means it probably had a longer development period, which we have to assume is a good thing. With a little luck, this will be to Mr. Voorhees as the Arkham games have been to Batman. And if nothing else, we know it’ll have a cool soundtrack!
Check out the trailer below. Consider it NSFW — the violence is all pixels, sure, but it’s still extreme. The game is tentatively scheduled for release in October. You can pre-order the game and/or the soundtrack here.
