Horseback S Third Single Via Self Titled

North Carolina drone/experimental project HORSEBACK today premieres “In Another Time, In And Out Of Form” via Self-Titled. The tune comes by way the forthcoming Dead Ringers full-length.

Issues Self-Titled of the track, “The ever-evolving world of Jenks Miller’s HORSEBACK project takes another hard left turn on Dead Ringers, a swirly excursion into the void populated by psych, drone, shoegaze, and Krautrock. Today’s Self-Titled premiere is especially out there, riding a wave of restless guitar riffs and hypnotic rhythms.”

Adds HORSEBACK mastermind Jenks Miller, “‘In And Out Of Form’ is built on traditional ‘rock band’ instrumentation, and it’s the only track on Dead Ringers with its basic tracks recorded live. The other musicians featured on this one — John Crouch (drums), Nick Petersen (bass), and Rich James (rhythm guitar) — also appeared on Half Blood (2012) and Piedmont Apocrypha (2014).”

Hear “In Another Time, In And Out of Form” now at THIS LOCATION.

You can also hear the first and second new songs from Dead Ringers, “Shape Of The One Thing” and “Lion Killer,” now HERE and HERE respectively.

Dead Ringers, HORSEBACK‘s newest full-length album, is a lush, heady, and singular blend of organic and synthetic textures. The new LP sees the one-man Chapel Hill, North Carolina experimental project continuing to evolve while staying true to their distinctive sound. Written, produced, engineered, and mixed by Jenks Miller, Dead Ringers finds HORSEBACK weaving a bright web of drone, krautrock, shoegaze, metal, and psychedelic elements, driven by wispy guitars, synths, beats, and clean vocals, and bolstered by dense layers of hypnotic resonance. The music is heavy yet light, stretching across eight tracks (including one mammoth seventeen-minute epic). Taking influence from the doomiest grooves and the nuance of minimal electronics, Dead Ringers is the most cohesive representation of HORSEBACK‘s musical vision to date.

Dead Ringers is set for release this coming August 12th via Relapse on CD, 2xLP and digitally. Physical preorder packages are available via Relapse.com at THIS LOCATION; digital preorders can be found via the band’s Bandcamp page HERE.
