Slipknot’s Jim Root Has Guitar Stolen In Portland

Unfortunately, gear theft has become quite common these days. Often times musicians have their equipment stolen when playing smaller venues as they haul everything back outside and load up their van or trailer. This event proves even some of the world’s biggest bands have to keep a watchful eye over everything. Root posted an Instagram photo of the instrument and had a message about the theft. It can be viewed below:

Root’s long-time girlfriend, Christina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil , also took to Instagram to inform fans of what took place. Scabbia’s post (below) also includes the serial number of the guitar, which can be crucial when trying to recover stolen equipment.

Back in July of 2013, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor had over $36,000 of equipment stolen, but fortunately recovered 98 percent of it . Hopefully Root is able to find himself in a similar situation and get his guitar back.

It has been a tumultuous week for Slipknot, as turntablist Sid Wilson injured his foot and will have to dial back his maniacal performances until the injury heals.

Knotfest is in its third installment, taking place this weekend (Oct. 23 and 24) in San Bernardino, Calif. The festival will feature a large variety of bands including such name acts as Judas Priest , Korn , Mastodon , Cannibal Corpse and Bring Me the Horizon just to name a few.
