Flaming Lips Announce New Album ‘Onboard The International Space Station Concert for Peace’

Just a couple of months on from the release of their latest album ‘Oczy Mlody,’ veteran psych-icons The Flaming Lips have announced plans for a brand new(ish) album, and it’s got a very Flaming Lips concept behind it.

‘Onboard The International Space Statin Concert For Peace’ will have a limited release on Record Store Day (22nd April) and it’ll be a “live(ish)” affair. The record will see the band reimagining seven tracks from ‘Oczy Mlody’ as “a fictional/ fantastical live Flaming Lips performance on the International Space Station.” So, it’ll be ‘Mczy Olody’ almost, with more of a stress on that “fantastical” angle. While the band have yet to share a taste of what to expect from the ‘Concert For Peace’ (including whether now-regular Lips collaborator Miley Cyrus will be joining them in space), it’s sure to be a typically cosmic adventure (sorry – Ed).
