“Highway Tune,” the debut single from the much-buzzed-about new band Greta Van Fleet, exploded at radio this week as the #1 most added track at Active Rock Radio with 16 adds, according to MediaBase. The track also marks the week’s highest new artist debut, landing at #24 on MediaBase’s Active Rock Airplay Chart.
“Highway Tune” also vaulted up 11 places on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart placing this week at #25. In addition, the track enters its seventh week in Hyper Rotation on SiriusXM’s “Octane” channel, and sits in the #10 spot on Spotify’s Global and U.S. Viral charts, recognizing the track’s organic volume of sharing and social activity. The combination of this week’s 16 radio adds with the additional 52 rock and alternative stations that proactively programmed the track prior to the June 5 radio impact date, certainly indicates that “Highway Tune,” from Greta Van Fleet’s debut EP Black Smoke Rising (Lava Records, released April 21), is off to an impressive start.

ABOUT GRETA VAN FLEET:
Greta Van Fleet is four young men, two are 18 (Danny Wagner/drums and Sam Kiszka/bass & keyboards), two just turned 21 (Josh Kiszka/vocals, Jake Kiszka/guitars); three are brothers, two of them are twins, and one best friend, all from the idyllic Michigan village of Frankenmuth (pop. 5000). They write and perform all of their own music; influences are varied, much of them rooted in their parents’ vast vinyl collections – Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Tchaikovsky, John Lee Hooker, The Who, and the Yardbirds, as well as Robert Frost, “The Lord of The Rings,” “Apocalypse Now,” and Ernest Hemingway. Greta Van Fleet sound the way they sound, they play the way they play; what makes Greta Van Fleet’s sound their own is that it’s rooted in the band’s own collective truth.
All four band members are high energy, intelligent, adventurous, well-read and laser-focused on their art. They were raised in homes that encouraged creativity and exploration, and maintaining the integrity of their own, personal paths. And, they’ve got a very 60’s/70s-era message of love and peace and co-existence that they want to get out through their music.
