Metallica Release Music Video for Dream No More

We’re nearing the release of the highly anticipated new Metallica album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct and the thrash legends seemingly can’t contain their excitement, eager to release more from the record. They’ve already released videos for “Hardwired,” “Moth Into Flame” and “Atlas, Rise!,” and now they’ll be rolling out a music video for each new song every two hours today and into tomorrow (schedule below). The first clip up is “Dream No More.”

The song is the fifth track on the album, slowing things down considerably with a grueling, sloth-like pace. “Dream No More” is among Metallica’s sludgier moments, opting for sustained chords and churning rhythms with James Hetfield delivering a low, sinister croon. Check out the song in the music video above.

The band will be releasing each music video steadily through 6AM ET tomorrow (Nov. 17) through various media outlets and Metallica’s website and the schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, Nov. 16:

12PM ET – “Dream No More” (Directed by Tom Kirk)
2PM ET – “Confusion” (Directed by Claire Marie Vogel)
4PM ET – “ManUNkind” (Directed by Jonas Åkerlund)
6PM ET – “Now That We’re Dead” (Directed by Herring & Herring)
8PM ET – “Here Comes Revenge” (Directed by Jessica Cope)
10PM ET – “Am I Savage” (Directed by Herring & Herring)

Thursday, Nov. 17:

12AM ET – “Halo On Fire” (Directed by Herring & Herring)
2AM ET – “Murder One” (Directed by Robert Valley)
4AM ET – “Spit Out The Bone” (Directed by Phil Mucci)
6AM ET – “Lords of Summer” (Directed by Brett Murray)

Drummer Lars Ulrich recently revealed that Metallica will be issuing a music video for every one of Hardwired… To Self-Destruct‘s 12 tracks. With the album arriving on Friday, Nov. 18, Metallica announced a special midnight release dubbed ‘Blackened Friday‘ that will see 100 select record stores throughout North America. Fans will have the chance to become some of the first to get their hands on the coveted album as well as “cool giveaways” like limited edition vinyl slipmats and more.
