Primitive Man – Caustic
Ethan Lee McCarthy – Guitars/Vocals, Jonathan Campos – Bass, Joe Linden – Drums

My Will lots of feedback and slow plodding droning riffs with vocals from the mouth of a demon. Victim more feedback and fuzz with a slightly mid-tempo beat and vocals that sear your soul. Caustic noise from hades and other places beyond the grave then Commerce starts a slow plodding demonic marching from hell. Tepid has feedback that hurts the ears and more slow plodding demonic sounds form the underworld. Ash works its way into your brain with a screech then Sterility pounds you into submission then back to a slow march to hades. Sugar Hole grinds its way into your very being sucking all of the light out. The Weight has all the sounds of hell bearing down on you and just devouring your mind then Disfigured grabs your soul and rips it out. Inevitable is just what it says the end of your sanity. Absolutes feedback and strange sounds that slowly drive you insane totally.

Profetus – Coronation Of The Black Sun
V Kajansuu – Drums, Eppe Kuismin – Guitar, A Makinen – Guitar/Vocals, S Kajunssu – Keyboards

Skull Of Silence slow and steady Sabbath like rhythms that seems to be coming from a witches coven black mass. The Eye Of Phosphoros grinds even deeper and darker into the black pit of nothingness. Coalescence Of Ashen Wings growling grinding deep into your very being and just converting your soul to darkness. Blood of Saturn worming its way up behind you grabbing your throat and just strangling the life out of you. Saturine Night hidden deep in your sub conscious is lost emotions. Winter Solstice is just dark deep growling lost in the woods for your life music and vocals. Blood of Saturn Live completes this horror music fest.

Harbinger of Death heavy riffs pounding drums and bass slow Sabbath stoner rock. Around The Universe takes back to the early days of Black Sabbath and just slow emotional tripping music. Menticide head banging heavy metal that just envelopes you and takes you away to another time and place. The First Encounter could be on one of the first few Sabbath albums and fit in very well great moody heavy metal with some excellent searing lead guitar. Burnt Offering ends this doom fest correctly with lots of great playing and emotion.

Shine Bright – More Wild Than The Wind
Spenser Sorensen – , Michael Burton –Guitar , Zane Waltrous,-Vocals Jordan Talley – Bass, Tailor Neilson- Guitar

Highrider – Roll For Initiative
Andreas Fagerberg- Bass/Vocals, Carl Axel Wittbeck – Drums, Eric Radegard- Guitars,
Christopher Ekendahl- Keyboards

Nihilist Lament thrash metal at its finest it reminds me of Nuclear Assault fast heavy and lots of emotion and lead guitar. A Burial Scene slow plodding and extremely heavy sounds like the hands of doom are coming for you. Batteries would be a moshers favorite with lots of speed and aggression along with some searing lead guitar. The Greater Monkey starts with keyboards that build like a church organ then the band comes in with some excellent work then the keyboards take the stage imagine Nuclear Assault with organ. Vagina Al Dente a strange drum beat and guitar feedback then a Sabbath style bass comes in then it gets extremely heavier with organ imagine Sabbath meets older Uriah Heep then mix in older Anthrax and Nuclear Assault sounds weird but it works. Emotional Werewolf another strange mix of thrash speed metal and progressive metal along with some punk style vocals. Roll Dee Twenty is straight ahead speed metal with organ and some scorching lead guitar work. The Rope And The Blade slow and steady prog metal that turns into a mix with stoner rock metal.

Jessie Brown – Keeping Appearances
Jessie Brown – Vocals/Keyboards, Jason Vautour – Bass/Guitar/Vocals, Thomas Spence – Drums/Vocals

Debt (We Aint Got No Money) deep bass guitar keyboards and bluesy vocals what an interesting combo but it works. Ghost more deep bass piano and slow plodding drums with more bluesy vocals. Keeping Appearances has a straight forward beat that changes tempo more than once very different. Someone Else sounds like old motown. Regret takes you back to the seventies motown almost disco era. Voyeur is closer to prog rock mixed with the blues. Stepped Out slow bass plucking with motown style vocals. Undertow another slow blues based motown meets prog rock song. That’s What Happens is just straight forward 70s motown blues. A Thank You just straight forward blues with great vocals.

Jupiterian – Terraforming
V-Voices/Guitars/Percussion/Synths, A- Guitars, R- Bass, G – Drums

Matriarch strange sounds and low rumbling bass that work its way into the sounds of hell fire and brimstone with evil vocals. Unearthly Glow feedback slow plodding and evil. Forefathers sounds of wind and chimes along with some strange sounds that sneak up behind you and strangle you with demonic intent. Terraforming evil sci-fi sounds that slowly worm its way into your soul it’s like being lost deep in space. Us And Them slowly builds then kicks you in the teeth and tries to pull them out . Sol deep slow bass and drums that comes from the bowels of hell itself.

Mason – Impervious
James Benson – Guitar/Vocals, Grant Burns – Guitar, Steve Montalto – Bass, Nonda T – Drums

Eligos is the metal march intro into Burns which is a mix of old Anthrax, Nuclear Assault and MOD/SOD. Tears Of Tragedy continues the mosh fest with some excellent riffs and fast drums and yelling singling vocals. The Afterlife sounds of wind and feedback with some great guitar work that kicks into a mosh pit festival of sounds. Impervious is just straight ahead thrash metal at its finest with some scorching guitar work. Cross This Path thrash meets punk in the excellent song. Sacrifice is Motorhead meets Slayer meets old Metallica. Hell Bent On Chaos another full on in your face speed thrash metal I like Motorhead meets Overkill meets MOD. Created to Kill Anthrax meets MOD/SOD meets Nuclear Assault hard fast and heavy.

Two songs from this band from Hamilton, Scotland. You can check them out on soundcloud. Einstein takes you back to the new wave era of the 80’s, then kicks to a sort of pop punk song. Punked Out has an almost disco beat mixed with power pop punk and new wave.

Crawl – This Sad Cadav’r
The songs on this EP are just listed as I, II & III. This is soundscape music that just worms its way through your brain slowly, kind of an updated Tangerine Dream meets Hawkwind.

Grande Royale – Breaking News

Know it All starts this album with some excellent riffs to play air guitar and air drums to. Also some great bass work and sing along vocals. One excellent toe tappin’ song. Brake Light starts with another great bass and guitar intro then has sort of a Beatles/Stones feel to it, but slightly heavier with more great vocals. Devils Place has a Lynyrd Skynyrd feel mixed with maybe some Bad Company/Free adding excellent soulful guitar leads. A great song to kick back to and have a cold one. Breaking News definitely has a southern rock feel, a great song to sing along with that takes you back to the 70’s when some awesome music was made. Live With Your Lie reminds me of a Bad Company style song with a great bluesy beat and excellent vocals with screaming leads. Daily Illustration is another Lynyrd Skynyrd inspired song mixed with some Allman Brothers. Got To Move has a sort of southern rock meets George Thorogood style to the music. This song will have your head bobbin’ and your feet moving from the first note. One Second continues the southern rock blues theme with some awesome bass that goes throughout the song. Briqueville – II
AKTE V has dark grinding guitar and a solid beat. The song begins with lots of noise and feedback that worms its way into your brain. This is kinda like pissed off old Pink Floyd or some of the more obscure progressive rock bands from the 70’s but heavier. AKTE VI is very slow and almost silent. Slowly building in volume the guitar has some very emotional playing, then it kicks you in the teeth with intensity and volume. It sounds like a cross between stoner and psychedelic music. AKTE VII is another slow building song that is very space rock oriented at the end and it has a very middle eastern feel.

Midnite Hellion – Condemned to Hell
Drew Rizzo – Drums, Rich Kubik – Bass/ Vocals, Mario DiBartolo – Guitar

Black and White starts with an old radio changing stations. Then an awesome speed metal style of riffs kicks in with thrash style vocals. Death Dealer continues the metal riffage like fast Judas Priest with some excellent tempo changes. Cross the Line is classic fast heavy metal that makes you want to just get up, throw your fist in the air, and then mosh. Enter The Nightmare slowly builds with acoustic guitar and some chimes then an excellent speed thrash song. It reminds me of some of the Exodus stuff. Soldiers Of Hands is a fist in the air head banger that will have the entire crowd moving. The Fever is another Judas Priest inspired song. It’s a great fist in the air, sing along metal anthem. RIP It Up has an Annihilator style to the music and vocals along with some excellent guitar leads. The Morrigan is just pure classic heavy metal, maybe the best riff on the album and that’s saying a lot. Another just pure metal song. Teenage Bloodsuckin’ Bimbos has spoken words then another excellent riff, some awesome bass, and some chanting sing along vocals to end this excellent metal festival of sounds.

Monster Magnet – Tab (Reissue)
Dave Wyndorf – Vocals/ Guitar, Tim Cronin – Vocals, John McBain – Guitar, Joe Calandra – Bass, JonKlieman – Drums

Tab is an almost 34 minute space rock odyssey of sounds. Mix Hawkwind, older Pink Floyd, and some more slow space rock from the 70’s and this is what you get. Kick back, close your eyes and get ready to trip. 25 takes you to the outer places in your mind, then kicks into a MC5 style of song, and maybe like the original Amboy Dukes. Longhair is more straight forward hard space rock, maybe with some Ziggy Stardust influence. Lord 13 has the sound of a bar crowd mixed with a band tuning up which starts to play over the crowd noise. Strange and different.

Monster Magnet – Spine Of God (Reissue)
Dave Wyndorf – Vocals/ Guitar, Tim Cronin – Vocals, John McBain – Guitar, Joe Calandra – Bass, JonKlieman – Drums

Pill Shovel has an excellent drum intro and then the fuzz guitars kick in. This takes you back to the psychedelic late 60’s. Medicine has a very Grand Funk Railroad style of riff with lots of awesome musicianship. NOD Scene starts out very much like older Pink Floyd with fuzz guitars and strange sounds. Then it kicks into a Black Sabbath style of riff, then goes back and forth. Black Mastermind is a stoner Sabbath style of riff and rhythm with some excellent drum and bass playing. Zodiac Lung takes you back to the days of maybe a cross between Frigid Pink and The Animals. Spine Of God slowly builds with some very spacey sounds and guitar, then a slow plodding Black Sabbath style of riff kicks in, then back to the spacey melodic stuff with some spoken word continues till the end. Snake Dance has an excellent riff and drums to move to the beat with and also trip to. Sins a Good Mans Brother is a cover originally done by Grand Funk Railroad. I like the original better but this is a very good cover worth listening to. Ozium takes you back to the 60’s and early 70’s. It’s just slow, trippy, and moody with lots of emotion. They end the album with the demo version of Ozium, slightly different but still as trippy.

Mindcult – Lucifer’s Dream
Fowst- All Instruments and Vocals

Drink My Blood/ Nightmares is a very plodding stoner style of song with some almost spoken word vocals and a great riff. Behold The Wraith is very Black Sabbath influenced with a touch of gothic and very distorted guitars. Infernals is slightly faster but not by very much. It feels as if you are in slow motion. Howling Witch starts with strange sounds and spoken words from some movie then a bass from hell kicks in and takes over with a slow plodding guitar. Lucifer’s Dream has sort of a marching beat but at the time still slow and plodding. This song continues for over 9 minutes.

My Ticket Home – Unreal
Nick Guimenti – Vocals/ Bass, Marshal Guimenti – Drums, Derek Blevins – Guitar, Matt Gallucci- Guitar

Thrush has sort of a punk meets new wave meets metal sound. Flee The Flesh has a Clash feel to the music along with certain elements of gothic. Flypaper is more industrial metal with a mix of Pantera. Time Kills everything slowly builds with some strange sounds and music, almost like industrial meets early Pink Floyd. Hyperreal is another almost new wave song but updated with many of today’s influences. Redline is punk meets metal meets industrial meets gothic. Joi has slow plodding guitar and vocals that cross between yelling and spoken. Gasoline Kiss has excellent drumming, rough guitar riffs, and chorus like vocals along with some yelling. Cellophane, another slow plodding song with very dark emotional vocals, is not death metal but dark just the same. Down Life has the feeling of walking into a haunted house and feeling all the emotions of that place. We All Use goes back to the punk meets metal meets new wave feel back and forth. Melancholia drags you down into the depths of despair. Ending the album is Visual Snow with its ethereal sounds and slow vocals.

Wayward Sons – Ghosts Of Yet To Come
Toby Jepson – Vocals/ Guitar, Sam Wood-Guitar, Nic Wastell – Bass, Phil Martini – Drums, Dave Kemp – Keys

Alive begins this amazing album with an almost Led Zeppelin riff, very blues based hard rock, this is a great sing along song. Until the End has your feet tapping from the very first beat, get ready to play air guitar like you did when you were a kid. Ghost has an almost punk beat to it mixed with some great hard rock. I Don’t Wanna Go starts with a great bass and then an awesome rhythm kicks in on the guitar, this song has kind of an ACDC feel to it. Give It All reminds me of Toby’s old band Little Angels excellent riffs great backbeat and awesome vocals. Killing Time starts off with a very Bad Company feel to the music this is a very blues based hard rock song. Crush has an excellent rhythm and great sing along vocals. Another song that was influenced by the great English blues bands of the sixties and seventies. Be Still has the feel of a Thin Lizzy song. Great vocals to sing along to and excellent music to bob your head to. Small Talk could have been released in the 70s and done great on the radio. The last song Something Wrong is slower and very emotional, an excellent way to end the album.

Dirty Thrills – Heavy Living
Louis James – Vocals/ Harmonica, Jack Fawdry- Guitar, Steve Corrigan – Drums, Aarons Plow- Bass

I’ll Be With You is a mix between Bad Company, Led Zeppelin and Grand Funk. Great tempo changes frame an excellent emotional song. Go Slow starts with a very Blue Cheer style rhythm then the Grand Funk influence kicks in. Law Man has a very 70’s feel to the song great drums and excellent vocals to sing along to, the entire band is very good at holding a groove. Hanging Around starts with some guitar that makes you just kick back close your eyes and jam to. This song reminds me of Ride Captain Ride by Blues Image. Very emotional acoustic guitar is how Lonely Soul begins then it slowly builds full of emotion with some great lead guitar. Then it slows back down near the end of the back and forth. No Resolve reminds me of Jimi Hendrix full of great guitar and feeling. Interlude is a very Pink Floyd feeling instrumental into The Brave 1 this could be a Grand Funk song from the early days. Drunk Words is a very blues based Cream style of song. Drunk Words is a cross between Cream and Led Zeppelin. The last song Get Loose ends the album with a great sing along dance to the beat song.

Gin Lady – Electric Earth
Magnus Kamebro – Vocals / Joakim Karlsson – Guitar, Vocals
Anthon Johansson – Bass, Vocals/ Fredrik Normark – Drums

This band may be from now but one listen and Flower People takes you back to the great music of the late 60’s early 70’s. This song is very bluesy and soulful. I’m Your Friend is a cross between the Allman Brothers and Tom Petty. Excellent music to just kick back with a few friends and have a cold one. Badger Boogie continues the trip through the glory days of music as some people think great bluesy rock. The Things You Used to Do sounds like something that could have been played at Woodstock. Excellent to sing along to. Mercy has some great soulful acoustic guitar playing and is another one that sounds like Grand Funk could have done it. Brothers of the Canyon takes you back again to a combination of Crosby Stills Nash and Young and the Allman Brothers. Some excellent heartfelt guitar work on this one. Rolling Thunder has more of a Rolling Stones feel mixed with some southern rock. Water and Sunshine sounds like it is very Beatles influenced with some blues thrown in. Wasted years continues the trip through the late 60’s early 70’s great song to sing along with. Running No More ends this great collection of songs each one a trip down memory lane.

Gross Reality – Escaping Reality
Daniel Powell – Bass, Vocals / Roland Arthur – Guitar/ Jason Wheeler – Drums

Dimensional slowly builds then kicks in with some excellent drums and guitar then into full blown speed metal. Excellent Bass intro then back and forth between drums and bass then the guitars kick in and a very spacey speed metal feel surrounds you. An excellent song with lots of feeling. Zero Day kicks in overdrive from the very start and has sort of a speed meets thrash punk feel to it that reminds me of Raven. The Incomplete is another speed thrash song that still has lots of emotion to the music. Also some great tempo changes. Invitation starts with a very ethereal guitar slowly building as the drums and bass meld in then a great mid-tempo riff starts to churn about with some very space rock vocals. Soul Worn Thin is an excellent speed thrash song with a great riff to mosh to. Into The Vault may be the heaviest song on the album great in the style of Testament and Annihilator. Escaping Gravity also starts with some amazing bass playing then the rest of the band slowly works their way into the song. Kind of a spacy Hawkwind style of song.

Gutslit – Amputheatre
Gurdip Singh Narang- Bass / Kaushal LS – Vocals / Prateek Ragajopal – Guitar / Aaron Pinto – Drums

Hailing from India Gutslit are a Brutal Death Metal / Grind band. The title songs start’s the grind fest off with the sounds of a battle. Then Brazen Bull kicks in with all the might of a sledgehammer to the face and vocals from a pissed off demon. From One Ear to Another is next continuing the assault of your senses like a worm boring into one ear and out the other. Necktie Party is yet another in your face brutal assault like getting punched in the face. Blood Eagle is slightly slower and plodding then like a hammer to the back it just annihilates you. Brodequin grabs you by the throat and continues to hammer your head against the wall. Maraschino Eyeballs is like having you eyes pulled out and stomped right in front of you sheer terror. Schapism continues the blastbeats riffing guitars and rhythms from the depths of hades. Death Hammer ends this onslaught of grind core terror with a slow plodding Pantera style riff then kicks into overdrive like being kicked in the face until you finally submit.

Plagued by Obscurity starts the album and slowly builds like its working its way into your soul then the blast beats and extremely growling vocals kick in and it seems as if this song wants to tear you apart from the inside Mutation Above Salvation is next and the onslaught continues feeling as if you have been run over and they are backing up to do it all over again. Maggotts and Disease has a slower plodding start but then kicks in to continue the annihilation of your senses. Malus and Invictus feels as if a worm is boring thru your brain making you lose all control. The album continues to assault the senses with Abominated Impurity of the Oppressed and Condemned to Dismemberment. Wretched Incantations is an instrumental with some very evil sounds. Manifestation of Agony goes right back to the blast beats and vocals that seems to come from a very pissed off demon. Decaying Suffering and Ashpyxiation upon Phlegethon end the sounds the album with something like the sounds of hell being released on earth. This album is only for true fans of extreme death metal.
